"There have been no arrests as of this time.  The Skokie Police Department is pursuing several active leads and making substantial progress toward the resolution of this case.  Updates will be forthcoming."

At the time of the shooting, a carnival was operating on the west end of Old Orchard Mall, just across the street from Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler Ave. It is not clear, at this time, if the offender or victim attended the event. However, the carnival was shut down moments after the shooting, police said.

Because the incident is under investigation, police are not releasing further information. Skokie Patch has also followed up on several leads, but has not learned anything substantial.

Authorities are also asking that anyone with information contact police at 847-982-5900. Callers can remain anonymous.
