Santa Rides Through Morton Grove

Riding atop a Public Works Department truck, the Jolly Old Elf tossed candy to deserving children--and some of the sweets were specially marked. Kids could redeem those for prizes. Photos by Andy DeMonte.

It isn't every day you see Santa riding down Dempster Street. Wanting to let the reindeer rest up, the Bearded One instead clambered aboard a Village of Morton Grove Public Works Department truck.

Santa and his helpers rode through town and distributed candy to delighted children. Fortunately, no lumps of coal were given out.
