Snow Makes Slow Going Friday
Niles police handled four accidents during the afternoon and evening as the snow continued to fall.
As snow started falling in earnest just in time for Friday's evening commute, Niles Patch found maneuvering down Dempster Street and Oakton Street in Niles were a challenge. Driving down Milwaukee Avenue was a little easier, though still slow.
According to Niles Police Sgt. Tom Davis, police responded to one accident on the street and three in parking lots during the storm, from Friday morning until 10:30 p.m.
A total of 5.4 inches of snow fell at O'Hare International Airport, according to Pioneer Press, making travel times long and driving difficult.
