Take a Sweet Time-Out at Papagalino Cafe

Enjoy delectable desserts in a cozy setting

Looking to have a leisurely chat with friends over cappuccino and custard?  Or a rendezvous with a side of baklava?  Step into Papagalino Café in Niles, where you can enjoy conversation and sweet treats.

The menu at Papagalino Café is highlighted by Greek pastries, including loukomades (sweet fritters served warm with a honey syrup), bougatsa (baked custard in homemade fillo topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon) and baklava. Those with a sweet tooth can also indulge in desserts such as Black Forest cake, tiramisu, strawberry torte, crème caramel and profiterols, among others.  If you want to buy a whole cake to take home, head next door to Papagalino Bakery.

Desserts are complemented by a menu of select sides and entrées: fried calamari, saganaki, salads, subs, burgers and pita wraps, among them.

There is plenty of liquid refreshment to be had at the café, including a variety of teas, soft drinks and coffees. If you prefer beverages that pack a punch, order a Greek coffee (trust us). Or go with a Café Papagalino, which consists of espresso and a “special” liquor (we didn’t ask, but we liked it!).

Besides the food, the décor and ambiance will encourage you to linger.  Hardwood tables, comfy chairs, and intriguing light fixtures - whose LEDs gradually change color – make for a memorably cozy setting.
