Tax Appeal Filing Now Available Online in Cook County

Residents can appeal property tax assessment on the web.

Yesterday the Cook County Board of Review announced that filing a property tax appeal is now a little easier, according to Chicago News Cooperative.

Residents of Cook County can now file their appeal online. Previously, in order to appeal a tax assessment, paperwork had to be filed at one of the county’s offices or during an outreach session with a county official.

The new system is now accessible at www.cookcountyboardofreview.com. Property owners who attend outreach sessions can also fill out a one-page form describing why they need a tax break. The one–page form is another new addition in an effort to streamline tax assessment appeals.
