Temps Will Hit 10 Below When School Resumes Monday

You may want to drive your kids to the bus stop or to school.

As if returning to school after a two-week winter break were not bad enough, Chicago-area students will be hit by an Arctic blast.

Temperatures are predicted to fall to -13 F Sunday night, then range from -15 F to -7 F on Monday. So it seems safe to assume they will hover around 10 below when kids and students are heading out to school and adults are setting out for work.

This may be a good weekend to stock up on long johns and wool socks; you may also want to arrange for your kids to get a ride to the school bus or to school Monday.

Tuesday is predicted to be relatively balmy with a temperature range between -1 F and -3 F.
