Com Ed reported widespread power outages in the Niles area Tuesday night.The power company's website showed 10,000 or more outages for its various power stations surrounding Niles, including Skokie, Mount Prospect and the north side of Chicago. The outages occurred after a heavy thunderstorm battered the area around 9 p.m.
Many power lines were down in the village of Niles, according to Niles police, but there were no fires.
