Three Scouts Reach Eagle Status

The Troop 175 Boy Scouts received the award last week.

 

After running a car wash to benefit an animal shelter, a concert to benefit tsunami victims and a food drive to benefit the Niles Food Pantry, Tim Duffey, Antonio Gonzalez and Robert Murdach received their Eagle Scout awards on Sunday, June 3.

Duffey organized two car washes and a seminar at Niles Public Library, an raised more then $1,000 for Wright Way Animal Rescue. It went toward food, water and medical care for the animals.

Gonzalez planned and played in a benefit concert, and raised almost $500 for the Save the Children fun for tsunami victims in Japan. Nine musicians volunteered their talents at the concert.

Murdach coordinated a food drive for the Niles Food Pantry, and collected about 700 items. He worked with the Niles Family Services director to plan the project.
