We are counting down the most popular stories from Morton Grove in 2011.

As 2011 wraps up, we thought we'd take a look back at the year that was in Morton Grove. After looking closely at some of the biggest and most talked about stories, we narrowed down our list to the top five.

Things really heated up this summer over the contentious and ongoing Morton Grove Library Board dispute. The library board has been a hot-button issue since the beginning of 2011. Earlier this year, the Cook County state's attorney found that the previous Morton Grove  by failing to “keep a verbatim record of all their closed meetings” via recording. Since then the new library board has been trying to turn the page toward a fresh start.
