Try These Last-Minute Summer Camps

School's out, and kids can enjoy camp activities.

If you're a procrastinator, or your plans changed, or you're simply too frazzled to book a summer camp when there's still snow on the ground, take heart.

You can still get your kids into camp if you act fact. 

Try the following options.

  • Niles Family Fitness Center. All-day camp is offered from June 13 to August 12, and you can select the days or weeks you need. 
  • Worlds of Wonder. This Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 summer offering, which offers cool classes like digital movie-making, drawing and music, has filled some classes but others are still open. Register Monday morning, June 13, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at either Lincoln Middle School, 200 S. Lincoln, Park Ridge, (for children who just finished grades 4-6) or Washington School, Park Ridge (for children who just finished grades 1-3). The first session of classes begins Tuesday. There's a better selection of classes for the second session, which begins July 5. Worlds of Wonder offers morning classes only.
  •  offeres a variety of all-day camps, and still has openings.
  • TLC Summer Camp, offered by East Maine School District 63, is held at Gemini Junior High at Greenwood and Ballard Roads, Niles, and  still has openings. A variety of field trips to major museums and zoos is offered on Fridays.
  • Park Ridge Park District offers all-day or half-day sports, arts and nature camp and still has openings. 
  • The Leaning Tower YMCA offers all-day camp for a variety of age groups.
