Village of Niles crews are making their last pickup of leaves this week--today for residents on the east side of Milwaukee Avenue and Wednesday and Thursday for residents on the west side.
"We're going around town with leaf collection one more time this week," said Village Manager George Van Geem.
This represents a tricky time of year for the , which has a short window to convert its trucks to snowplows. The 10-day forecast includes temperatures below 32 degrees, so it could snow soon.
