Chicago NYE Ball

When/Where: Saturday, Dec. 31 at 9 p.m. at the Rosemont Ballroom; 5555 N. River Rd., Chicago.

Why Go: Celebrate the new year with dancing, music and featured performer Lil John.

Pricing: N/A

New Years Eve Skate

When/Where: Saturday, Dec. 31 from noon until 2 p.m. at ; 8435 Ballard Rd., Niles.

Why Go: Celebrate the New Year early with fun music, hats, noise makers, and games for the kids. There will be a countdown and toast at "midnight.”

Pricing: $5 plus $3 skate rental.

Chambers New Years Eve Bash

When/Where: Saturday, Dec. 31 at 9 p.m. at ; 6881 N. Milwaukee, Niles.

Why Go: Join Chambers on New Years Eve for two rooms of entertainment. In the west room The Ronnie Ross Show will be performing and in the east room Jerry Owings will be on the piano. Seating starts at 9:00 pm with a special menu. There will be dinner, dancing, party favors, and a champagne toast.

Moretti's Kids New Year's Eve

When/Where: Saturday Dec. 31, 8:30 p.m. at Moretti's, 6797 N. Olmsted, Chicago. Make reservations ASAP at (773) 631-1223.

Why Go: Moretti's throws a Kids NYE with a balloon drop around 9:30 p.m., hats and noisemakers, and kids' dinners starting at $5.95. Adults order off the menu, which includes pizza, salads and sandwiches. Moretti's website says their Mount Prospect location still has reservations available for their 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. seatings.

Bubble Bash 2011

When/Where: Saturday, Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. until noon at the DuPage Children’s Museum; 301 N. Washington St., Naperville.

Why Go: There will be musical performances by The Boogers, art activities, photo ops, refreshments, and a museum-wide countdown to noon led by Naperville Mayor A. George Pradel. Plus, lots and lots of bubbles!

Pricing: $20 residents, $25 non-residents.
