The September equinox occurs today and marks the first day of fall. At Park Ridge's Wildwood Nature Center, golden light on prairie plants at sunset showed the gentle waning of summer. 

Did the ducks know fall is coming? Since they continuously dived for food, maybe they're trying to fatten up for the months ahead.
