Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment:   Danielle captained her high school varsity volleyball team, leading it to its first regional victory in 11 years.  Since 8th grade, she has also played club volleyball, most recently at Energy Volleyball Club in Niles. In April, she received a $3,000 Dollars for Scholars college scholarship from the Niles Chamber of Commerce.

Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness:  In addition to volleyball, which she has been playing since 4th grade, Danielle has maintained a full roster of school activities – National Honor Society tutor and Spanish Club president, while also taking a number of AP/honors classes; she graduated with high honors.  She has additionally spent time volunteering; she first volunteered with the MaineStay Youth and Family Services program in Park Ridge two summers ago helping out with kids, and worked for the program last summer.  In summer 2010, she also volunteered at Misericordia in Chicago, working with mentally disabled adults on summer camp activities. She plans to study speech pathology at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign this fall; a career that combines her two loves of science and kids.
