Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment: George recently graduated from Culver as one of four students tied for the highest grade point average (4.0 out of 4.0) in his 8th grade class. He received a Spanish award (earned by two students in each grade) and an Algebra award (also given to two students per grade level). In 8th grade, he was awarded a President’s Education Award, given for academic excellence.

In April, George received a $1,000 Dollars for Scholars high school scholarship from the Niles Chamber of Commerce and Industry; he will be attending Niles West in the fall.

Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: George is an honor roll student (earning Red Honor Roll honors for three consecutive quarters) who is getting the jump on high school by taking a class in business and technology in summer school, held at Niles North. He has played soccer and volleyball, but is excited to try out for football when he is a freshman this fall (his twin older brothers were Niles West football stars).

George’s favorite subjects are social studies and history, along with math.  He thinks he might like a career in business/accounting.  Noting that he is “kind of a money guy,” he explains that – starting at age 7 – he used to lend money to his brothers and made them pay him back, with interest.
