Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment:  Sean recently graduated from Maine East, where he served as student body president his senior year; he was the class president his junior year.

Last fall, Sean received the District 207's Best for Community Service award, based on his in-school and outside volunteering.  This includes serving as an assistant religious education teacher at St. Isaac Jogues in Niles during his freshman year, spending a summer working at WINGS resale shop in Niles and helping each year with the annual Gemini Junior High lock-in (for incoming sixth graders).

This fall, Sean will be attending University of Minnesota, Twin Lakes, where he will pursue a major in agricultural business.

Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Even with his many volunteer duties, Sean has maintained a heavy course load, including AP classes, and graduated with a 3.87 GPA. A National Honor Society member, he has merited High Honor Roll honors, as well as being named Student of the Month, for math, English and social science.

Throughout high school, he has been active in not only the student council and class councils, but also in German Club, Irish Club, Ecology Club and DECA (a business marketing student association).  A member of the Principal’s Advisory Board, Sean has also served as the school mascot his junior and senior years.

At U. of Minnesota to study agri-business, Sean notes, he intends to work in the food service industry.  His ultimate goal is to own his own farm one day.  “I’m interested in the whole organic food movement, and the idea of growing your own food.”
