Daniel Berkey is a freshman at Glenbrook North. He belongs to organizations such as Midwest Young Artists. There his experiences and collaboration with these organizations he has learned to grow as a musician/performer. His influences come from other players and mentors/teachers such as Sonny Rollins, Nic Meyer, Bryan Kyrouac, Doug Schuler, Greg Fishman, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon, Joshua Redman, etc... He has played at venues such as The Jay Pritzker Pavillion, The Harris Theater, Kranert Center for the Performing Arts, Pick-Staiger, Pate Miller’s Restaurant, Shaw’s Crabhouse, Andy’s Jazz Club, and Chamber’s Restaurant. He still strives to learn as much as he possibly can from people and the music he hears so that he may mature as an musician/performer and hopes to meet you to some day to play.
