Morton Grove Crowd Likes 'Billy Elton' Show

The outdoor concert Tuesday got kids dancing and grownups tapping their feet, with Elton John and Billy Joel music.

 

The Morton Grove Park District concert series drew a large crowd Tuesday night, attracted by a pleasant 72-degree evening and the Billy Elton band, playing the music of Billy Joel and Elton John. 

"My kids were dancing to it the whole time," said Holly Hoffman, who brought her family to the concert. "They don't get into every band, but this one they were really into."

On the other side of the crowd, 13-year-old Jacob Cherney also said liked the band. He was eating a slice of pizza from Giordano's, the featured food vendor for the July 10 concert, which was sponsored by the Morton Grove Chamber of Commerce.

Reid Spears did vocals and keyboards for the band, in a show called Piano Men. 

The Park District has upcoming concerts on July 17 and 24, as well as other events.
