Students didn't only see new faces when they entered the classroom inPark Ridge-Nile School District 64this week, they also were met withnew curriculum standards and new technology, the Park Ridge Sun-Times reports. The district has new math curriculum for students in kindergarten through eighth based upon the state's common core standards. The district is also preparing for a move from paper to computer testing by implementing new technology. This school year all kindergarten through fifth-grade classrooms in District 64 will be equipped with Smart Boards, while Sixth, seventh and eighth-graders will use interactive dry-erase boards to explore their new math resources. The district is also purchasing more Samsung Chromebook computers and more iPads the publication reports.
