DiMeo Blasts Patch

DiMeo Responds to Recent Patch Article

Let's put up pictures of strippers - that should sell some advertising!  What a sorry state of journalism.  The fact of the matter is that I own Bernie DiMeo Communications.  I also own Rocco Shirts and Hot Sports Grills.  And I owned and operated DiMeo & Co., a full service, award winning advertising agency from 1987 until 2010.  We serviced well respected companies such as the Chicago White Sox, Bulls and Popeyes Chicken.  And yes, i had an interest in a stripper service as well, which I have since sold.  Interesting to note that the photos that were sensationalized on the Patch didn't even come from the website in question.  But what the hell - they help sell the alleged story.

Here's the sad part - why is this even an issue for an election in Niles?  Really, why?  I am not running for any office.  In fact, I don't even live in Niles!  I'm helping candidates that I know and respect.  But I'm not the story.

To take a cell phone number that I have had for more than 15 years and tie it in to an old flyer is beyond bad.  The old saying went "if your mother says she loves you - get a second source."  Sadly, those days of respectible journalism are long gone.  Today you can write whatever you want about whoever you want and the facts be damned.

I beg the good people of Niles to concentrate on the real issues and on the character of Andrew Przybylo and his experienced, professional Trustee candidates.

Think about the Seniors, the need for Village employees and office holders to be held accountable, the need for new businesses in Niles and other real issues. Those are the real - and the only - issues that should be discussed.
