TIME FOR NILES VOTERS TO GET THE REAL FACTS

It's time that the voters of Niles got the real facts, instead of the lies and half-truths being put out by the so called "Responsible Leaders".

Trustee Mary Marusak's recent tireade in The Journal is a perfect example.  Let's look at the facts.

FACT: Nile's financial situation is a mess.  Only one Truste, Andrew Przybylo, had the courage to say "NO" to would would have been a $100,000 waste of money turning the Council Chambers into a high def television studio when a $100 webcam could have produced live coverage.   Is it responsible to lay off employees so you can get yourself on television during selection season?  No, it is not.  Andrew did not oppose televising meetings, he simply opposed wasting money.

Speaking of wasted money approved by the Irresponsible Ones, how about the nearly $250,000 the irresponsible ones spent on flowers?  The Niles New Party 2013 Team believes money should be spent on serving the community, not on making office holders look good.

FACT: The irresponsible ones acted in secret more than has ever happened in Village history.  In the last two years, our Trustees have met in closed sessions more than 30 times!  Of those times, the motion to go into closed session was made and/or seconded by one of the irresponsible ones each and every time.  How many times did a Niles New Party 2013 candidate move or second a call for executive sesion?  ZERO!

FACT: The irresponsible ones throw the number $100,000 around a lot.  Let's be clear.  They aren't against buyouts.  Just last year they orchestrated an $80,000 buyout of the former Village Manager.  And, totally out of public view, and withour proper authorization, spent $30,000 on a special lawyer to negotiate on their behalf.  That's not $100,000 - it's $110,000!  Which of the current Trustees voted to waste that money?  Hanusiak! Preston! Hynes!  Which Trustee voted against it?  Przybylo!  Which slate claims to be for transparency, yet hides their plan even from some of their fellow Trustees?  The irresponsible ones, that's who.

FACT: It's easy to make wild accusations without proof.  It's easy to make things up.  It's easy to say things that sound good to voters.  The people who today are meeting in secret, not releasing minutes, spending your money in irresponsible ways are Hanusiak, Hynes and Preston.

Let's put an end to the "good old boys and girls".  Vote for the candidates who will keep you informed, spend your money wisely, and see that you get services that you need.  Candidates who believe that sales tax revenue collected from non-residents is better for all of us than higher property taxes on residents.  That flood relief is more important than flowers.  That businesses in Niles need to expand.

I'm proud to be running as a candidate of the Niles New Party 2013.  On April 9th, reject the lies and half-truths of the irresponsible leaders.  Vote for Andrew Przybylo for Mayor, John Jekot, George Alpogianis and me for Trustees.
