Niles Bank Robbed Tuesday Morning


A man who implied he had a weapon robbed a Niles bank today at about 9:15 a.m., Niles police announced. 

Police responded to Parkway Bank, 7601 N. Milwaukee Avenue , after receiving a  report of robbery in progress. 

Once on the scene, police were told a black man wearing a black raincoat type of outerwear, had approached a bank teller and demanded money. He implied he had a weapon, but did not display one. The man was wearing both the coat's hood and sunglasses. 

The teller put an undetermined amount of cash into a bag, and the robber ran east across Harlem Avenue into a residential neighborhood.

Niles police searched the area but did not locate the offender. 

The Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the crime.
