Four Weeks to Morton Grove Farmers' Market: Saturday's Preview Hints of Success

This week Farmers' Market Manager Kristina Otte gives readers a sneak peek at the Mother's Day pre-sale this Saturday.

Thanks to everyone who turned out for our first Mother's Day Weekend Farmers' Market on Saturday.

We had a great turn-out, and we're so excited to have 20 vendors at this special gift-themed Market.

With body-care products, notecards and jewelry made right here in Morton Grove, as well as our new and returning vendors with all sorts of good things to munch on and peruse, a good time was had by all, I think!

And with only a few sprinkles of rain, we're finally catching a break in the weather realm, so far.

Thanks to Steve Justman, troubadour extraordinaire, and the Morton Grove Historical Museum and the Morton Grove Public Library for entertaining the troops all morning long with activities, stories and music.

A special thanks to the dads who brought their kids to the market and gave mamas everywhere an hour of quiet at home.

Our first official market is Saturday, June 4, with Opening Day ceremonies at 10 a.m., so get out that iPhone or calendar and mark it down right now!

Freshly picked strawberries should be in by the, if the weather keeps improving like it is this week.

See, I told you spring was coming! Only 24 more days until the market opens.
