Guess the Food: The Pad Thai Is From...

It's not the answer most of the guessers expected. We also reveal the winner.

For the first time I can remember, we have only one person who guessed correctly in the Niles-Morton Grove Patch Guess the Food contest.

Shawn correctly guessed that the pad thai dish is from restaurant at 9253 N. Waukegan Road, Morton Grove.

Anna and Matthew Woods took over the restaurant six months ago.

Anna, who is originally from Thailand, says she has worked in restaurants, mainly Thai, Japanese and Chinese, almost since she came to the U.S. 16 years ago.

They've partnered with Vattayagorn Suvaparp, also from Thailand, who is the chef.

The pad thai dish has stir fried thin rice noodles with sweet turnip, egg, fried tofu and bean sprouts topped with ground peanuts. It can be topped with chicken, beef, pork, tofu, and is priced at $7.95 for dinner and $6.95 for the lunch special, which also includes an appetizer and soup.

Shawn, please contact Anna at Sri Siam to receive your free meal.

Everybody else, please play Guess the Food next time.
