Guess Who Makes This Salad: The Answer Is...
It just opened recently on Golf Road, though they had a location on Touhy Avenue in Niles before.
Did you correctly guess which Niles or Morton Grove restaurant makes this Mango Chipotle Chicken salad?
It's Baja Fresh on Golf Road, which has a California-inspired take on Mexican food, said Jignesh Patel, owner of the Niles location. Currently the California chain's only location in Illinois, it opened in February.

He liked the fact the ingredients in the tacos, burritos and other specialties were made fresh from food that is not frozen or canned. The chain also has a salsa bar, with salsas made fresh throughout the day. The seasonal salsa is mango, in addition to standard red and green salsas.
From May 4 through 10, Patel is running a special for $3 burritos, and no coupon is needed.

A previous Baja Fresh franchisee owned eight stores in Illinois, including locations in Niles and Rolling Meadows, but closed all of them.
The winning guess came from Kitty Kendrick of the Niles Township office. Kitty emailed her guess, "mango chicken chipotle salad from Baja Fresh," in an email to Niles-Morton Grove Patch. Technically, guesses should be made on the story itself, but since Kitty was the only one to correctly guess the restaurant, we'll let her off easy!
