Here's Who Makes, And Who Won, The Pasta

It has Italian sausage, artichokes, peas and sun-dried tomatoes in a tomato cream sauce.

Several people correctly guessed that the pasta dish shown in this week's "Guess the Food" contest came from Amici Ristorante on Milwaukee Avenue in Niles.

It's the penne paesana, which includes Italian sausage, peas, artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes in a tomato cream sauce.

Sarah Maranto Zimmerman, who owns the restaurant with her husband Mike and sons Nick and Michael, says she learned many of the recipes the restaurant serves from her mother, who came here from Italy in 1962.

Sarah and her husband have remodeled Amici, a former steakhouse, three times to achieve its current Tuscan architectural look.

They'll celebrate 25 years in business on Aug. 1.

As for the winner, seven guessers correctly guessed that Amici makes the dish. Pretty good, guessers! We did a random drawing, won by Kathlyn Williams. Congrats, Kathlyn.  Please see Sarah or Michael at Amici to redeem your free pasta dinner.

Everyone's invited to play Guess the Food again next week. All you have to do is look at the photo and make your guess in the comments section.
