Illinois' First BurgerFi Opens in Glenview

If you know what to order, there's a secret sandwich that's not on any BurgerFi menu.

Glenview's newest burger joint at the corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Lake Street has been bustling with customers, even though it hasn't had its grand opening yet.

BurgerFi had its soft opening a month ago, but general manager Altaf Hemani said that hasn't stopped plenty of people from visiting the restaurant.

Glenview got Illinois' first BurgerFi restaurant, though the restaurants exist cross-country. The fast food restaurant specializes in natural ingredients in all its food — burgers that are never frozen, fries that are cut from potatoes in the store, even vegi burgers made every day by chopping fresh vegetables and making patties.

Patch stopped by last week to try out the restaurant's cheeseburger, and it was definitely tasty. The portion may be a bit small for a single burger, but with fries or onion rings, no one's leaving hungry.

The restaurant even has a secret item that's not on any menu called a hippie burger, made with two grilled vegi patties and a side of relish.

Yelp users have started posting about the restaurant, giving it 2.5 stars out of 5 with 16 reviews
