Know Your Niles Food? Himalayan Restaurant

We asked you to guess which restaurant makes this meal. One of those who guessed right wins two lunch buffet meals.

Yesterday we showed you this photo and asked you to guess which Niles restaurant makes this meal.

Three people guessed the correct answer, , in the Four Flaggs Shopping Center at the southeast corner of Golf Road and Milwaukee Avenue, Niles.

Vivek Kunwar, a co-owner of the restaurant, brought out the Tandoori Chicken dish for Patch to photograph.

"In 10 years (in business), we've gotten huge support from the village and people of Niles," said Kunwar, who was born in Nepal.

The restaurant offers a large variety of cuisine, with chicken, lamb, seafood, goat and vegetarian offerings. Diners can order their food mild, medium, hot or extra hot.

"My wife is Indian so we wanted to have both Indian and Nepali food," Kunwar explained, describing the restaurant's menu.

The restaurant is expanding, and will be starting construction very soon on a party room.

It will also expand its lunch buffet. And that brings us to our winner, since Kunwar offered a prize of two free lunch buffets.

Patch readers Scott K, Patti Ecker and Anyshka all correctly identified the Himalayan as the restaurant serving this dish. Patch wrote their names on slips of paper (an online news site using paper? Isn't there an app for that?), put them into a Patch canvas bag, shook them up thoroughly and drew Anyshka's name. Anyshka, please contact me at pam@patch.com. We'll need to hear from you by 8 p.m. Thursday or we'll award the prize to an alternate winner.
