Mariano's Opening in Harwood Heights

A new store in the hot grocery chain will open April 16 on Lawrence Avenue west of Harlem Avenue.

Mariano's, the popular grocery store chain which is rapidly expanding in the Chicago area, has announced it is opening a store at 7401 W. Lawrence Avenue, about two blocks west of Harlem Avenue, in Harwood Heights.

The store, slated to open Tuesday, April 16 at 6 a.m., is very close to Norridge. It is also about three miles south of Niles and about two miles south of Park Ridge's southeast border.

Mariano's markets typically feature an Italian coffee shop serving gelato, a wood-fired pizza oven, and sit-down sushi bar, according to their website.

The first Mariano's opened in Arlington Heights in 2010. A store has also opened on Elston Avenue in Chicago's Forest Glen neighborhood, and others have opened or are in the planning or construction phases.
