Old Orchard By The Numbers

If you live in this area, you probably visit Westfield Old Orchard Mall in Skokie on a regular basis. 

But do you really know the upscale retail extravaganza? 

We gathered these fun factoids, which let us look at the mall from a different lens the the usual "no, I didn't see my best friend walking by because I was too busy ogling the gorgeous clothes in the display windows" point of view.

Here we go:

• Number of parking spaces at Old Orchard 7,840 (And be prepared for a stare-down if you want one on Black Friday)
• Number of stores 139 (Really? With all that retail razzle-dazzle, I thought there were hundreds).
• Average number of people who visit Old Orchard per year 13,000,000 (That's almost twice the population of Transylvania.)
• Number of people the movie theaters can hold 3,662 (Two thousand are in line for popcorn ahead of you.)
• Number of restaurants and eateries 24 (Could someone please tell me how I am supposed to eat an Epic Burger while knowing I need to try on swimsuits afterward? Hmm? ) 
• Number of restaurants offering vegetarian options 15 (I believe cheesecake would count.)
• How many doctor's offices are in Old Orchard? 60 (If you end up paying an arm and a leg for high fashion, you'll need them.)
• Number of films playing at the theaters, on average 12 (But there's still the matter of those 2,000 people in line for popcorn.)
• Number of stores exclusively selling women's clothes 25  (And I will have to go to all 25 to find a pair of jeans that fits.)
• Number of years old the mall is 57 (Pretty sure Elizabeth Arden makes a cream for that.)
• Number of stores and attractions accessible to wheelchairs and strollers 139 (Rock and roll.)
• Number of types of vegetables that can be grown in the center's organic garden 20  (So THAT's how we're supposed to fit into the swimsuits.But what about The Cheesecake Fac...we interrupt this message while the writer claps a hand over her mouth.)
• Number of signature events each year 10+  (Wait, we're used to Ravinia. Here's 10 bucks to sit on the lawn.)
• Average length of customer visit 94 minutes  (Those would be the shoppers with the Y chromosomes.)
