Morton Grovers consumed about 70 gallons of firefighter chili on Thursday evening.
The annual Taste of Morton Grove bash featured a smorgasbord of local fare, ranging from Filipino egg rolls to Dairy Queen ice cream.
The local firefighters spent all day preparing 70 gallons of chili, served alongside Goldfish Crackers, shredded cheese, oyster crackers and sour cream.
The Niles Township Food Pantry received a $1,000 donation from the Morton Grove Foundation, while area residents bid on local prizes for a silent auction.
