It will offer video gaming in a restaurant-like atmosphere to appeal to women customers, according to reports.

A sign on the door of a storefront in Morton Grove's Lonore Plaza shopping center announced that Betty's Bistro will be opening soon.

The website of the owners, Blackhawk Restaurant Group, indicates the company is opening a new bistro concept combining a casual, upscale eatery with state-approved video gaming terminals.

The Betty's Bistro sign is posted at 7152 W. Dempster Avenue, Morton Grove.

Lonore Plaza is located at the northeast corner of Harlem Avenue and Dempster Street.

Two Betty's Bistro locations were planned in Joliet, according to a February report in Plainfield Patch, with four more similar gaming bistros planned for Joliet, all owned by Blackhawk Restaurant Group of Oak Brook. Blackhawk's parent is an Oregon-based company specializing in restaurant, bar and video gaming enterprises, according to Plainfield Patch.

A Betty's Bistro was also proposed for Bartlett, leading to that village's Planning and Zoning Commission having a detailed discussion on how to best control the number of gaming establishments in town--whether through liquor licenses or some other means.
