Niles will get its third Starbucks coffee at Fountain Plaza at Touhy and Milwaukee Avenues.
The famed coffee chain will lease a 1,600 square foot space in the plaza, said Denise McCreery, business coordinator for the village. The plaza contains a CVS pharmacy and several vacant units.
The shop will have 24 seats and open some time before September. It will feature a drive-through.
Niles' Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals will consider the Starbucks at its June 6 meeting, said Rich Wlodarski, assistant director of the village's Community Development Department.
Niles has two other Starbucks, one at Pointe Plaza on Touhy near Lehigh, and the other in Four Flaggs Shopping Center at Golf and Milwaukee Avenues. Others nearby include one in Morton Grove on Dempster and Waukegan Roads, two in uptown Park Ridge and one on River Road, north of Oakton, in Des Plaines.
Niles does not have any independent coffee shops; Morton Grove has one, Super Cup, on Fernald Street.
