What Should Replace Dominick's In Morton Grove?

Keep in mind that Mariano's, Fresh Farms and Whole Foods are building in towns which neighbor Morton Grove.

Last week, news broke that Safeway Corp., the parent of Dominick's Grocery Stores, is closing all the stores in the Chicago area, including the location at 6931 Dempster Street, Morton Grove.

What would you like to see go into the grocery store space at 6931 Dempster, at the corner of Waukegan and Dempster, after Dominick's leaves in the spring?

Keep in mind that the shopping center, Prairie View Plaza, is undergoing redevelopment, and the village has put in place a tax increment financing (TIF) district for it.

Also keep in mind that many grocery chains are building in, or have announced plans to build in, Morton Grove's neighbors: Fresh Farms is building a second location in Niles, filling a vacated Jewel-Osco space. Skokie is getting a Mariano's on Touhy near McCormick. Park Ridge is getting a Whole Foods on Touhy Avenue. Glenview is also getting a Mariano's, on Waukegan Road very close to Morton Grove.
