Meet Cubby: Ready To Steal Your Heart

C.A.R.E. cat Cubby has been unanimously voted "coolest, sweetest cat" by C.A.R.E. volunteers. So why hasn't Cubby been snapped up by a deserving family despite his more than 6-month shelter stay? It's because he happens to have tested positive for a feline virus that may or may not manifest itself. Cubby doesn't mind: he won't let anything stop him from cuddling, playing and enjoying life. 

Cubby says, "I'm a real sweetie pie and all the C.A.R.E. volunteers love me. I'll roll over on my back when you pick me up and when you give me a hug. I purr and purr all day long, but also love to play. My favorite toy is the cat charmer snake and I'll hunt and pounce! Please come meet to see how adorable and sweet I am."

Cubby's Stats:

• Cubby is FeLV+
• Domestic Shorthair, 1 - 3 years old, Black and White, Neutered male.
• ASPCA Feline-ality™ Assessment rating:  Orange / Personal Assistant
• Due to his FeLV+ status, Cubby should be the only cat in the home or should go to a home with other FeLV+ cats. We're not sure how Cubby feels about dogs, but he would probably do well with a respectful dog.
• Cubby would do best in a home with children over the age of 8 (just so they are old enough to understand that he may not have a long life).
• Cubby is microchipped, neutered, and has had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines.

Please come to C.A.R.E., 2310 Oakton St., Evanston, to meet Cubby and speak to an adoption counselor. Adoption hours are Monday through Thursday, 6-8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, noon-3:30 p.m.
