Key players: Notre Dame: Justin Halloran, Sr. G; Jake Maestranzi, Sr. G; Matt Mooney, Sr. G; Eddie Serrano, Sr. G; Duante Stephens, Jr. G; Donte “Scooter” Stephenson, Sr. G. St. Patrick: Nicholas Coleman, Soph. G; Royale Ewing, Sr. G; Keith Langston, Sr. G; Elijah Watson, Sr. G.

Fast Facts: Notre Dame is off to a fast start, having only lost to city power Morgan Park and a solid Benet squad in ESCC play. The Dons are a senior-heavy and guard-heavy unit this season, led by Mooney. Mooney is slated to play for the Air Force Academy next year and is averaging 15 points and six rebounds per game. He was the MVP of the Dons’ Thanksgiving and Christmas tournaments. Stephens (11 ppg) and Maestranzi (10 ppg) each average double figures for the Dons, as well. Serrano and Stephenson are the Dons’ top defenders. Halloran has been out with a broken bone on his shooting hand, but Coach Tom Les is optimistic that he could return in time for this game. St. Patrick won its first two conference games before stumbling to losses against Marist and Loyola in its last two contests. Watson has been hot of late for the Shamrocks, while Ewing is a four-year varsity player and three-year starter. They are a formidable guard tandem, one that should be challenged against the guard-heavy lineup of Notre Dame.
