Cardinal Francis George of the Archdiocese of Chicago will visit St. John Brebeuf Church tonight (Monday, Oct. 1) as part of a series of visiting with Catholics around the archdiocese this fall.

The visit is meant for all Catholics in the northern suburbs, according to the parish. The cardinal will speak on the topic of religious liberty.

According to the parish, the cardinal wrote a letter last spring saying he desires to "keep these issues before the public without being captured in political debate in a partisan way. These are matters of principle, not personality."

Additionally, the cardinal wrote that it's important "to frame the conversation so that the principles can be heard above tactics to isolate the bishops, on the one hand, or demonize the administration on the other."
