Annual Fourth of July Weekend Celebration Returns to Harrer Park.

Harrer Park is alive with the sounds of carnival games, rides, and rock and roll, as the annual Fourth of July festival, Morton Grove Days, has returned for the holiday weekend.  The celebration is put on by the Village and culminates with fireworks Monday night.

There is something for everyone at Morton Grove Days this year: mild to thrilling rides, different live bands every night, food served up by several area restaurants, and a beer garden.  The Fourth of July parade will pass by the festival grounds Monday afternoon, and there will be a raffle drawing held after fireworks to close out the celebration.

Peggy Draths, a 50-year Morton Grove resident, stopped by the food court with her husband, Bob, for a funnel cake after working the festival as a volunteer with the Women's Club.  Draths said of the celebration: "I've been coming to it for as long as I can remember.  It's always great, always a fun time."
