Freezing rain, possibly mixed with sleet, will develop late Sunday morning and continue into Sunday afternoon. It will change to rain early Sunday evening as temperatures gradually rise, the service said.

A freezing rain advisory means periods of freezing rain or freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.

Ice accumulating on tree limbs and power lines could weigh them down and increasing winds could result in power outages, the service said. Ground temperatures will be below freezing, so any liquid precipitation will freeze on contact, making roadways, sidewalks and walkways icy, difficult and potentially dangerous.
