So good it's worth hiding
“We’re moving to Arizona and this was on my bucket list of places to eat before we move,” said Jim Pfefferle, a Wisconsin resident.
Known for its caramelized cheese crust, Burt’s Place on Ferris is a favorite of North Shore residents as well. Michael Borobik of Deerfield will occasionally make a pit-stop in Morton Grove when commuting home on the train. Borobik will stop off in Morton Grove to pick up a pizza before making the last leg of his commute home.
“He hid a Burt’s pizza in the car once for a whole weekend because I made a dinner and I told him not to get a pizza. And, he hid it in the car for the whole weekend,” said Michael’s wife, Leslie Borobik.
Perfecting his pizza craft and being celebrated worldwide for his work is nice, said Katz, but he won’t let it go to his head.
“It’s nice to know people appreciate it, absolutely, like in any business."
