Community Corner

Domestic Violence and Guns: Are We Feeling Safer Yet?

Date: October 17, 2013
Location: Temple Emanuel, Chicago
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Cost: Suggested donation $5.

A panel of experts will discuss topics focused on the intersection between DV (domestic violence) and guns in our communities, especially the Jewish community: What is the relationship between current gun law changes and domestic violence--will it reduce DV to have more victims armed or is more gun control a better ally? How will concealed carry laws affect domestic violence? How can we battle gun violence in general and especially in DV?

Sponsored by NCJWCNS (National Council of Jewish Women, Chicago North Shore Section) and JCARES (Jewish Community Abuse Resources, Education & Solutions), these questions will be considered from the perspectives of and stories from agency, legal and law enforcement representatives. Audience participation encouraged. Light refreshments will be provided.

For questions, contact Kelly at info@ncjwcns.org or call 847.853.8889.  RSVP encouraged to info@ncjwcns.org.
