Morton Grove Historical Society Indian Marker Tree Carving...Part Two

The Morton Grove Historical Society has commissioned artist
Eric Widitz to carve a statue on site of a Potawatomi Native American from
a saved 14 foot remnant of the Indian Marker Tree that used to be on Beckwith Road near
the train. With help and donations from many in the community, the Society
saved this portion of the white oak tree for later use. Come see the artist
create the finishing touches to the sculpture on site, Saturday, September 28
from 9am to 12 noon. All are welcome and donations to the project are welcome
to help light the piece and install a plaque.
