Summit Launches World Religion Series on Feb. 3

Buddhism kicks off world religions
series Feb. 3 at Summit





A spring series about world
religions will kick off Monday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. at The Summit of Uptown, 10 N.
Summit (at Touhy), Park Ridge, when Bill Helmuth presents “Buddhism around the
World.”  

Other programs will include
Hinduism on Monday, March 3, at 2 p.m., Islam on Tuesday, April 1, at 1:30 p.m.
and Judaism on Friday, May 2, at 1:30.

There
is no charge the programs, but reservations are required.

 

Helmuth will discuss the basics of
the religion which is practiced by more than 400 million people worldwide—including
four million in the United States. Sharing the unique perspective he has gained
on world cultures as he has traveled to more than 100 countries around the
world as Director of Sales Asia for Time-Life Books, Helmuth will escort you to
many of the world’s magnificent Buddhist temples, including the famous Giant
Bamiyan statues in Afghanistan.

For further information or
reservations—which are required four days before each event—call 847-825-1161,
ext. 129. Light refreshments will be served. Guests are encouraged to arrive
early or stay late for tours of the newly renovated retirement community.  Parking is available in the City’s central
parking lot and the Uptown lot across the street.
