Twenty-first Star Chapter DAR Meeting & Silent Auction

The Twenty-first Star Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Park Ridge Country Club, 636 N. Prospect Avenue in Park Ridge. The meeting will start promptly at 11:30 a.m., and attendees are invited to arrive early and bring items for our annual Silent Auction. A luncheon will be served at 12:00 p.m. with a meeting and program to follow. Hostesses for the day are: Julia Trelease, Bette Kash, Jeanette Frye, and Nancy Ruscitti, Chairman.

 

Chapter Regent, Sheila Aszling is pleased to have retired U.S. Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Terrence J. Benshoof, present his program, "Military Dogs."  Mr. Benshoof has served as National Counsel for the Reserve Officers Association and is currently Commander of American Legion Post 3 in Glen Ellyn.  His personal awards include the Meritorious Service medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Army Commendation medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters.

Women who are interested in membership in DAR should know that any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership.  DAR recognizes "Patriots" not only as soldiers, but anyone who contributed to the cause of American freedom.  Contact Second Vice Regent, Dorothy Wilson at (847) 328-6946 for further details.
