Spring Up for Service

Event Combines Family Fun, Service and School Recognition

The KindnessConnection℠(TKC)-- an innovative non-profit 501(c)3 organization that inspires the next generation of volunteers--announces community event, "Spring Up for Service," which is open to the public.  Tickets are on sale now and all ages are welcome.

Executive Director Eva Lu-Bonn said the event is an opportunity for children and their families to connect while supporting The Kindness Connection's far reaching mission. Each year, TKC links thousands of elementary school children with meaningful service learning projects.

Participating schools in the current academic year will be recognized at the upcoming family fun and service event  on Sunday, May 6th at Sky High Sports Trampoline Fun Park in Niles.

TKCs Spring Up for Service will run from 5 to 7pm and include discounted jumping, and onsite service projects to benefit at-risk youth.  The public may register atwww.thekindnessconnection.org

At the event,  the following local  school communities will be inducted into TKC's  Honor Roll of Kindness for devoting hands, hearts and minds to service in the 2011/2012 school year through Kindness Connection Days:

The Hyde Park Day School, Northfield

St. Joseph School, Wilmette
Walker Elementary School, Evanston

In this academic school year alone, more than 3,000 participating students created more than 6,000 projects for 18 charities and their clients through The Kindness Connection.

Daniel Ryan, Principal of Hubbard Woods School described his students' experience in partnering with The Kindness Connection saying, "The children at Hubbard Woods have actively participated in The Kindness Connection service learning projects for several years.  They have enjoyed sitting down with students from different grade levels to work collaboratively in service to others.  The Kindness Connection is a wonderful vehicle for schools to engage children in service learning projects in a way that is fun and meaningful."
