Skokie 16-Year-Old Olympic Hopeful Training Hard For Aerial Skiing

His mom is trying to pay a $5,000 fee for his travel and competition expenses.

Dakota Fochs of Skokie has been ranked 19th in the world in aerial skiing--that daredevil sport where skiiers fly off a ramp and somersault in the air before landing.

He's training in Lake Placid, N.Y. for the Olympics, under a coach's watchful eye, according to newssun.suntimes.com.  He gets room and board there, but his parents must pay $5,000 toward the cost of his competition and travel fees.

To do so, his mom, April Demas Billman of Skokie, is asking for contributions on her GoFundMe.com page. See what she has written, and the comments others have made encouraging Dakota, at this link.
