Take This, Make That Fall Food Ideas

Delicious Fall Recipes from the gourmet chefs at GFS Marketplace.

The crisp fall air can mean only one thing – it’s time to start thinking about Fall comfort food! Warm soups, creamy macaroni and cheese, and delicious casseroles - what’s your fall favorite? Here are some fall favorites you can easily make with a little help from GFS Marketplace.

Start with a ready-made entrée from a GFS Marketplace store, add a few extra ingredients and you have a meal that’s kicked up a notice or turned into something completely different! Try one of these recipes and we’re sure you’ll be adding it to your list of fall favorites!  

Artisan Macaroni & Cheese Carbonara

1 Pan GFS Artisan Mac & Cheese, thawed

8 oz. Frozen Green Peas, thawed 8oz. Bacon, cooked and chopped

2 Tbsp Fresh Chives, cleaned and chopped  

Mix thawed GFS Artisan Mac & Cheese with green peas and bacon; mix thoroughly. Cook according to instructions on Mac & Cheese pan. Scoop and serve with a light topping of chopped chives.  

Southern Sweet Potato and Toasted Pecan Soup  

1 Pan GFS Sweet Potato soufflé, thawed 3 quarters Water 4 oz. pecan pieces 4 fl. oz. heavy whipping cream 20 pecan halves, toasted  Place thawed GFS sweet potato soufflé in a large stainless steel saucepan.

Add water and pecan pieces. Whisk together until thoroughly combined. Heat over medium heat until boiling. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Lightly beat heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form.

To serve, place soup in a warm serving bowl and top with a small dollop of whipped cream and a toasted pecan half.  

Tortilla Soup

 1 Pan GFS Chicken Fajita Filling, thawed, rough chopped 100 oz. Chicken Broth ¼ Bunch Fresh Cilantro, washed, chopped

2 tsp. Corn Starch, dissolved in water

10 Corn Tortillas, cut into thin strips Vegetable oil (as needed)

2 cups Monterey Jack Cheese 1-2 Avocados, peeled, pitted and sliced

2 cups Sour Cream  

Puree cilantro, cumin and tomatoes in a blender or food processer. Heat stock and add pureed mixture, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add chicken fajita filling that has been rough chopped. Stir in dissolved corn starch (Skip this step if you want a thinner soup). Bring to boil, simmer and serve. Garnish: Fry tortilla strips in oil until crisp; drain well. Top soup with shredded cheese, tortilla strips, avocado and sour cream.
