Dominick's Selling Grocery, Food Items At 50% Off

Find out which items are eligible.

Dominick's Grocery Store is selling non-perishable grocery items and frozen meats, fish and vegetables at half-off in an attempt to clear out its shelves before its closing Dec. 28.

Safeway, its corporate parent, is closing all Chicagoland Dominick's stores on or around that date, it announced earlier.

Perishables such as meats in the butcher shop are not eligible for the discount. However, pre-packaged meats, such as sausages and sliced deli meats, are eligible for the 50% off prices.

The Dominick's store in Morton Grove is located at 6931 Dempster Street, at the intersection of Dempster and Waukegan Road.

As of closing time Monday night, many shelves were bare, but the store still had fresh and frozen meats, frozen fish, vegetables and frozen dinners, ice cream, soups and more. Employees were also re-stocking some of the grocery shelves.
