Golf Mill Announces 'Festival of Trees' Winner

The winner collected the most canned food donations for the Maine Township Food Pantry. Find out who won, and what they'll receive.

St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church has won Golf Mill Shopping Center's "Festival of Trees" contest with 1,039 votes.  

The contest, in which people vote for their favorite by bringing in a non-perishable food item, collected 2,328 food items for the Maine Township Food Pantry. Sears provided a gift card for the winner, and the trees will be on display through the holidays. 

The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at 3pm at the Festival of Trees location near Golf Mill's Customer Service Center to provide St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church with their trophy and Sears gift card.

Thank you to all those who voted for their favorite tree in this promotion. The real winners are those hungry individuals and families that receive the donated food items during their time of need. Kudos to Golf Mill Shopping Center and its management team for continuing this fine tradition.

This is a great way for the commercial side of Christmas shopping to met the human needs of hungry neighbors. Nice going!
