Niles Historian Remembered At 2 PM Saturday

A memorial and tree dedication in honor of Marge Berles, a beloved leader of the Niles Historical Museum, will take place in front of its building at 2 p.m.

 

Marge Berles, whom friends describe as a go-getter who led the in many of its efforts, will be remembered Saturday at 2 p.m. in a memorial service.

On Friday, the museum planted a tree outside the museum's building at 8970 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, according to Walter Beusse of the museum.

The tree, an Autumn blaze maple, will be dedicated at the 2 p.m. ceremony.

According to the Village of Niles' website, Berles served as both curator and program director of the Niles Historical Museum, helping its collection grow and also planning monthly speakers on interesting topics.
